Happy Birthdays at Volupte!

Scotty and I getting all excited about the corsetry fashion show on the night.

So there's a reason why so many of us were born around the same time of year- to celebrate together of course!

Sarah, the bright young lady that she is suggested and organised our 'Big Birthday Bash Bonanza' to be at the Volupte Lounge. And what a fantastic night it turned out to be!!

Never have I seen such a painstakingly decorated club before. Chic, chic, chic- the place was done up flawlessly and people really were dressed to the nines.

One thing that made this night different to the standard dancing night is that we invited non-dancing as well as dancing friends. So I actually spent most of my time there chatting. It was great- I felt comfortable chatting and didn't feel pressured to dance. And it was so good just to be able to chat to my dancing mates too!

More crazy Volupte photos here (thanks Sarah!)

Afterwards (as in 3am), Michaela, Trim, Martina and I followed some other dancers (Gary and his fine friends!) to the Millennium Bridge and boogied on there for about an hour until a coupla cops told us to move our little operation to the end of the bridge, the side in front of the Tate Modern. Their reason was because apparently there's no CCTV there but we reckon it's just to move us into another mob's jurisdiction. We were very lucky with the weather- it was a still night and not too chilly, almost perfect for our little stunt!

Finally, we retired to ye ol' faithful Tinseltown 24-hour American-style diner where the goils had pancakes and Trim and I had Full English Breakfasts, naturally. Sunday morning 7am the sun was up as we stumbled out of the diner into the crisp morning air.

Now that's a birthday do I won't forget in a hurry!

Norway!!

From what I've seen, Norway is a beautiful country and the Norwegians are right to be proud of their homeland.

We spent a long weekend cruising from town to town along the longest and deepest fjord in the world, the Sognefjorden (204km, 1,308m deep). We started off in the town of Bergen, Norway's second-largest city.

Bergen, the view from outside the Art Museum- All the houses seem to be painted different colours- don't they look like toys?!

Unsuspecting tourist about to be mugged by one of the locals.

The boat we rode on was a huge catamaran which travelled surprisingly quickly yet without too much noise. Some of the villages we passed along the way have no roads at all and depend soley on these boats for supplies, and the post! Notice the 'post' sign on the flag.

Yes, this really was stunning scenery. I took 626 photos over that weekend. Boy was it difficult deciding which ones to put on this blog! This is another view from the boat. It was eerie seeing how the water reflected the clouds in an alien way- notice how it isn't a perfect reflection, it almost seemed pixelated. Matrix comes to Norway??

Ahhh, content and relaxed. Life couldn't be better!

First stop- Balestrand. We had dinner at the hotel that night, partly because there was nothing else around! Like the view? Yes, that's a glacier in the background.

Moseying around Balestrand after dinner. I can almost smell the fresh air again! You can see the glacier more clearly in this picture, and that's a gas tanker that's been sitting there since March, apparently to leave in October. Strange place to park one of those things if you ask me...

Flam (pronounced 'Flom', there should be a little circle on the 'a'). After the cruise, we took a train up the granite cliffs to return to Bergen. I took this while waiting for the train. That cruise ship really is a floating hotel. The sheer size of the ship make you realise how deep the fjord really is.

More trolls, this time in Voss. This time I didn't let him sneak up on me. Do you reckon I stared him down?

Yep, the trolls know how to dance here too! Go Timmy!
